Your Visit

First Time

No experience needed.

Never climbed before? No worries at all. Bouldering is for everyone…kids, teens, adults, total beginners, and seasoned climbers. You don’t need any experience, special skills, or serious upper-body strength to get started.

Just rock up, grab some shoes, and have a go. Our routes range from super-easy to seriously tricky, so you can start small, build confidence, and progress at your own pace. Whether you are here for a fun first try or your new favourite hobby, you’re welcome on the wall.

What is Bouldering?

Bouldering is climbing… but without the scary heights or ropes. You scale short walls (up to about 4.5 metres high) and land on big, squishy crash mats if you slip. Each climb is like a fun puzzle or ‘problem’ as we call it in the bouldering world.  You mix balance, strength, and a bit of creativity. It’s less about racing to the top and more about figuring out clever moves and enjoying the challenge.

The great thing is, anyone can give it a go.

What to bring/wear?

Keep it comfy and casual! Wear clothes you can move freely in, think activewear, leggings, shorts, or trackies, plus a fitted top. You’ll want something stretchy for all those big reaches and funky moves.

Climbing shoes are best (you can bring your own or hire them here), and socks are a good idea for comfort. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated, and maybe a light jumper for chilling between climbs.

That’s it, no ropes, no harnesses, no fancy gear. Just turn up, climb, and have fun!

FAQ

Bouldering is climbing in its purest (and funnest) form, just you and the wall. No ropes, no harnesses, no complicated gear. Our walls are low (up to about 4.5m high), and you land on big, squishy crash mats if you fall.
Each climb is a little puzzle called a “problem.” You figure out the best way to move from hold to hold to reach the top. Some climbs are smooth and flowy, others are powerful and dynamic…and all of them are a good time.

Nope! Absolute beginners are 100% welcome. Our climbs range from super easy to seriously tricky, so you can start where you’re comfy and work your way up. You’ll build strength, confidence, and skills as you go—without even realising you’re working out.

Wear whatever makes you feel comfy and ready to move. Most people go for activewear like leggings, shorts, trackies, and a fitted top.
Socks are a must if you’re hiring climbing shoes.
Shirts on, please (singlets are totally fine).
Outrageous outfits? We fully support that too. 😄

Because it’s fun. Like, really fun.
We’ve got challenges for everyone, from first-timers just having a go, to experienced climbers chasing their next big send. It’s also great for:

  • Fitness & strength
  • Balance & coordination
  • Confidence & focus
  • Stress relief
  • Hanging out with friends

Plus, it’s super social, expect plenty of cheering, problem-solving together, and “OMG YOU GOT IT!” moments.

Easy! Everyone just needs to fill out a quick online Waiver before climbing. It covers gym rules and safety info, and you only need to do it once.

Just climbing shoes!
You can hire them at reception or bring your own. They’re snug, grippy, and designed to help you stick to tiny footholds like a mountain ninja. Socks are required for rentals.
No ropes. No harnesses. No stress.

Not fit at all (yet 😉).
We’ve got climbs for all ages and ability levels. You can take it slow, build up your fitness over time, and get a full-body workout without it feeling like one, because you’re too busy having fun.
Bonus benefits include:

  • Reduced stress
  • Better balance & coordination
  • Stronger muscles
  • Sharper focus
  • A serious mood boost

All you have to do is show up and give it a go.

Bouldering Lingo

Boulder / Problem

A short climbing route set on the wall. Each one is like a puzzle you solve using your body and brain.

Send

To complete a climb.
“I finally sent that blue one!” = I did it!

Attempt

One go at a climb. Fall off? Shake it out and try again.

Flash

Sending a climb on your very first try (no falls, no tips). Big bragging rights.

Project

A climb that’s just out of reach… for now. You keep coming back to work on it until you finally send it.

Crux

The hardest move (or section) of a climb. The moment everyone falls off and groans dramatically.

Dyno

A big, jumpy move where both feet leave the wall. Looks wild. Feels awesome.

Static

The opposite of a dyno—slow, controlled movement with full body tension.

Beta

The “how-to” of a climb. The sequence of moves that helps you solve the problem.
“What’s the beta for this one?”

Spray Beta

Unsolicited advice shouted at someone mid-climb. (Pro tip: ask first 😅)

Slab

A wall that leans away from you. All about balance and fancy footwork.

Overhang

A wall that leans toward you. Bring on the core strength and power.

Jug

A big, comfy hold that feels amazing to grab.

Crimp

A tiny hold you pinch with your fingertips. Feels less amazing.

Pinch

A hold you squeeze from both sides, like you’re holding a sandwich.

Volume

Big, geometric shapes bolted onto the wall. You can use them like holds (hands, feet, or both).

Heel Hook

Using your heel on a hold to pull yourself up.

Toe Hook

Hooking your toes around a hold to stay on the wall.

Flag

Sticking one leg out for balance when you’re not standing on anything with it.

Match

Putting both hands on the same hold.

Campus

Climbing using only your hands (no feet). Hardcore mode.

Barn Door

When your body swings sideways off the wall like a door. Usually followed by dramatic flailing.

Pump

That heavy, tired feeling in your arms when they’re done for the day.

Chalk Up

Putting chalk on your hands for better grip.

Chalk Bag

The little bag that holds your chalk (and all your climbing dreams).

Downclimb

Climbing back down the wall instead of jumping off. Bonus points for style and knee safety.

Top Out

Finishing a climb by standing up on top of the wall (if the route allows it).
